Terrelle Pryor Blames Poor 2017 On Ankle Injury
7 years agoNew York Jets wide receiver Terrelle Pryor (ankle) blames his poor season with the Redskins in 2017 due to his ankle injury during a learning experience. "I couldn't focus on my game because I was worried about my foot," Pryor said at the conclusion of last week's minicamp. "It took control of my mind. Right now, I'm healthy" -- well, not really -- "and ready to get back to form and have a dominant year." Pryor tore his right ankle ligament in Week 1, played hurt for half the season and then shut it down for surgery. He managed just 20 catches in nine games after a 1,000-yard season for the Browns the season prior. He's on another prove-it deal with New York, but he hasn't taken part in any offseason practices due to arthroscopic surgery on the same ankle, and he's questionable for training camp. Pryor has tons of athleticism, but his troublesome ankle and the fact that he has Robby Anderson, Quincy Enunwa and Jermaine Kearse ahead of him make him a risky fantasy selection.
