Domingo German Records Second Straight Victory
6 years agoAfter losing his first four decisions in his first season as a starter in the major leagues, New York Yankees right-hander Domingo German appears to have turned a new page following another dominant performance. The 26-year-old went seven innings on Tuesday night, allowing just two runs on two hits while walking none and striking out nine. It was his third consecutive start with at least nine strikeouts and his second consecutive game of at least nine strikeouts and no more than two hits. Since May, only German and Chris Sale have pulled off such a feat twice. The victory moved his record to 2-4 on the season, while his pitching has seemingly kept his spot in the rotation safe for now, as the Yankees continue to try and acquire a pitcher via trade.
