Rosell Herrera Triples In First KC Start
6 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Rosell Herrera got his first start for the major league squad on Monday, and he popped a triple to introduce himself. Herrera was claimed off waivers by KC after he was released by the Reds, and so far, he's held his own in Triple-A Omaha. Hitting .278 with a home run and four stolen bases over his first 41 plate appearances, Herrera was called up on Sunday and started in right field on Monday. There's a chance he'll find some short-term playing time with Jorge Soler on the DL and Jorge Bonifacio still finishing out his suspension, and if Herrera can show some skills, he could work his way into a more consistent spot. He'll mostly be battling with middle infield prospect Adalberto Mondesi to find a way into the lineup.
