Ian Desmond Punishes Rangers Pitching
7 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman Ian Desmond has been slumping terribly all season, but nothing cheers up a player's bat like the opportunity to hit against bad pitching in a hitter-friendly park. Starting with a three-game set in Philly and now moving on to Texas, Desmond is hitting .313 with three home runs and four RBI. His pair of home runs on Friday helped lead Colorado to a victory and remind Texas fans of 2016, when Desmond hit 22 home runs, stole 21 bases, and hit .285 for the Rangers. Desmond's brought his average above the Mendoza Line for the first time this season, and his BABIP is finally starting to recover from its sunken depths. He should be an excellent bounce-back candidate for the second half of the season.
