Brendan Steele Back In Action At U.S. Open
7 years agoBrendan Steele will return from a somewhat lengthy layoff to play in this week's U.S. Open. Steele last teed it up over a month ago when he logged an MDF in the Players Championship. He has cooled off a bit since beginning the season on fire. Steele won the Safeway Open in the fall and reeled off seven consecutive cuts made before missing the cut at the Masters. He has played sparingly since the year's first major, making only two tournament appearances since April. He will need to shake off the rust quickly to contend at a tough Shinnecock Hills course. Steele has fared well in the U.S. Open recently, scoring consecutive top-15 finishes in 2016 and 2017.
