Craig Kimbrel Picks Up 21st Save of the Season
6 years agoBoston Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel picked up his 21st save of the season on Monday night in a 2-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles. After giving up a leadoff walk to Craig Gentry to start off the bottom of the 12th inning, Kimbrel struck out the next three batters he faced. He remains one of the premiere closers in the league. Kimbrel has converted 21 of his 23 save opportunities so far this season. He carries a 1.93 ERA with a 41/7 K/BB ratio through 28 innings. He is as consistent as they come and will be in line to receive plenty more save opportunities on one of the best teams in the league.
