Jefry Marte Starting at First Base
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels first baseman Jefry Marte is in the lineup on Monday, hitting sixth and starting at first base. With Shohei Ohtani out for the immediate future, Marte could see an uptick in playing time while veteran Albert Pujols slides over to designated hitter. The Angels have Marte, Jose Fernandez and Luis Valbuena who can all split time at first base. Marte is hitting .265 with three home runs on the year and is worth a look in AL-only formats if he starts getting consistent starts.
