Elvis Andrus To Begin Rehab Assignment
7 years agoTexas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus (elbow) will begin his rehab assignment at Triple-A Monday. Andrus, who has been sidelined since since April 11, could be in line for a return late this week or early next week if all goes well. Andrus will be hoping to demonstrate that his power breakout in 2017 was not a fluke. Fantasy owners should hang in there with Andrus, who may start off slowly when he returns to the major leagues. Arm injuries can be tough to return from and it could take Andrus a few days to feel that power and also to feel comfortable on the base paths. However, once he is comfortable he can offer double digits in both home runs and steals while hitting close to .300. His return will be bad news for Jurickson Profar, who figures to return to a utility-infield role.
