Alex Ovechkin Increases Point Streak To Four
7 years agoWashington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin scored the opening goal in Game 3 early in the second period. The goal was his team leading 14th of the postseason, which also puts him in a tie with the idle Mark Scheifele for the league lead. Washington had a flurry of chances on the play; Ovechkin corralled a rebound and put a backhand shot past a stretching Marc-Andre Fleury. His second goal in as many games also marks a point in each of the first three games of the Stanley Cup Final. His four-game streak extends back to Game 7 of the ECF, in which Ovi also scored the game’s opening goal. Ovechkin is showing he has come to play in his first SCF series; give him the start at any price point.
