Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano is not in the starting lineup for the Twins on Saturday. Sano returned from a month-long disabled list stint on May 25 and has not had a day off since, so the Twins are likely giving their power-hitting Dominican a breather. Sano was dearly missed by the Twins as he has two home runs and 10 RBI since his return about a week ago. Regardless of his strikeouts, Sano is an active contributor to an offense that needs all of the help it can get as currently constructed. Ehire Adrianza will start at third in his absence.--Kev Mahserejian

Los Angeles Angels third baseman Miguel Sano (knee) has been activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. The veteran slugger is back in the mix following a two-month absence due to a left knee injury. Sano hasn't brought much to the table this season with one home run and five RBI in 21 games. In a corresponding move, infielder Michael Stefanic has been optioned to the minors.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Angels corner infielder Miguel Sano (knee) is scheduled to move his minor-league rehab assignment to Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday. Sano resumed his rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League last weekend after suffering a setback on May 26 when he burned himself with a heating pad. Now that the 31-year-old right-handed power hitter is at the Triple-A level, he could be nearing a return to the major-league roster if his knee holds up. Sano had a 30-homer season as recently as 2021 with the Minnesota Twins, but injuries have really set him back in recent seasons. In 21 games for the Halos before going on the injured list, Sano was hitting .262/.352/.361 with just one home run, five RBI and 27 strikeouts in 71 plate appearances. When he's healthy, he'll be a power option in AL-only leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Angels infielder Miguel Sano (knee) was returned from his minor-league rehab assignment after the burn that he suffered from a heating pad did not heal. Sano took the protection off of a heating pad to make it hotter and burned himself, and he's now headed back to Anaheim with no timetable for a return. The 31-year-old corner infielder initially landed on the injured list with a left-knee injury and now has suffered a setback due to his burn. He'll now get some time to heal up before eventually restarting his minor-league rehab assignment. Before the injury, Sano was hitting .262 (16-for-61) but with just one home run and five RBI in his first year with the Angels. In his absence, veteran Luis Guillorme and Luis Rengifo have been splitting time at third base for the team.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Angels infielder/designated hitter Miguel Sano (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list on May 1 with left-knee inflammation in his surgically repaired knee after leaving games early on April 24 and 26 with left-knee soreness. Sano has been taking ground balls, but his knee continues to bother him when he swings a bat. The 31-year-old is not going to be ready to return from the injured list anytime soon. Willie Calhoun could continue to see at-bats as the Halos' designated hitter until/if Sano is able to return. The Angels are pretty beat up on the infield, but they could be getting Luis Rengifo (illness) back this weekend to play third base regularly. Before injuring his surgically repaired knee, Sano was hitting .262 (16-for-61) with a homer and five RBI in his first 21 games with the organization. Sano didn't play at all in 2023.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
