Braden Holtby Much Better In Game 2
7 years agoWashington Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby was shelled for five goals on 33 shots in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. He responded well in Game 2, stopping 37 of 39 shots faced. Holtby allowed a power play goal late in the second period, but otherwise was solid, making 10 saves as the Caps were shorthanded five times. Through two games, the Golden Knights have registered 73 shots and on top of that, the Caps have 36 blocks. Holtby will need to stay sharp to hold off the Vegas onslaught as they return to Washington, where the Caps are only 4-5 this postseason. Holtby’s most recent home game of course was a shutout victory in Game 6 of the ECF.
