Jorge Alfaro Leads Offense In Tight Victory
6 years agoWith runs at a premium on Thursday night in Los Angeles, the Philadelphia Phillies and Dodgers played a tight, low-scoring affair. While Aaron Nola allowed one run, the road club managed two, prevailing. The first run of the game came in the second inning, as starting catcher Jorge Alfaro singled in Maikel Franco. After the Dodgers tied the game in the fifth, Alfaro once again put his team ahead. In the seventh inning, the 24-year-old drilled a hit to right field, driving in the decisive run. He would be called out at third base trying to stretch a double into a triple, but it wouldn’t matter.
