Chargers Expected To Run More Three-WR Sets
7 years agoWith Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry (knee) out for the year, they are expected to run more three-wide receiver sets with Keenan Allen on the inside. They ran three-WR sets on 584 offensive snaps in 2017, which ranked 20th in the league, according to ESPN Stats and Information. They used at least two tight ends on 374 offensive snaps, which was eighth in the NFL. With sophomore wideout Mike Williams expected to be healthy to start the year, the Bolts are likely to use much more three-wide receiver sets in 2018. Allen also had the third most receiving yards and fifth most catches among wideouts between the numbers last year, so the move makes sense. While the loss of Henry was a big one for the team, it's great news for the fantasy values of Allen, Williams and even Tyrell Williams, who should all see more targets as a result.
