Clayton Richard Logs Another Quality Start
6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Clayton Richard fired seven solid innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Miami Marlins. His only hiccup was a two-run home run to second baseman Starlin Castro in the fourth inning. Richard cruised through the evening allowing four hits and a walk while recording five strikeouts. Richard now holds a 4.74 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. Although he owns a pedestrian 7.4 K/9, Richard has logged four quality starts in his last five outings. He'll be a risky streaming option next Monday at home against the Atlanta Braves, but he has been a much better pitcher at Petco Park (3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) than away (6.26 ERA, 1.54 WHIP) from it.
