Perhaps the biggest question of this week for many DFS players is what to do with Charley Hoffman. He was a flash in the pan for two weeks, however, that flash is bookended by poor performances. Horrific putting has been the story for the 48-year-old in this early season, as he ranks nearly dead-last in strokes gained putting (175th) at an average of -1.130. But aside from that, he is gaining strokes in every other metric at an impressive rate. He ranks 12th in strokes gained tee to green (+1.101), and still moves it off the tee at an average of 313.6 yards. Proximity numbers with the long irons are also some of the best on tour, which have attributed to his 22nd ranking in strokes gained on approach. If the putter can halfway cooperate, Hoffman is dangerous at $9,200 on FanDuel.

Charley Hoffman finished tied for fifth at last week's American Express and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. His past performances at this event have been mixed, with finishes of T57 in 2024, missing the cut in 2023, and tying for ninth in 2020. It's important to note that over the past 12 months, Hoffman ranks in the 24th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from over 200 yards in the fairway. This is significant because, at last year's Farmers Insurance Open, over 34% of approach shots came from this distance. While Hoffman has started the 2025 season strongly, including him in DFS lineups this week does come with some risk.

Charley Hoffman may be a player to avoid in Cabo this week. The 47-year-old Tour veteran currently sits outside of the top-100 in the Official World Golf Rankings and has yet to post a finish inside of the top-25 in his four Fall Swing appearances this year. He followed his missed cut at the Shriners Children's Open two weeks ago with a T65 at last week's Zozo Championship, losing over three strokes on approach and close to five strokes putting. Golfers will need to have success with the flat-stick to compete at El Cardonal, and over the last 36 rounds Hoffman ranks 71st in bogey avoidance, 84th in overall putting, and 92nd in putting on slow greens. As the 27th-most expensive golfer on the slate this week, fantasy managers will likely have a hard time justifying Hoffman on their rosters.

Charley Hoffman finished T26 at the Procore Championship two weeks ago. He will now focus on preparing for the Sanderson Farms Championship at the Jackson Country Club this week. Hoffman hasn't missed the cut in his previous five appearances, including two top-15 finishes. At last year's Sanderson Farms Championship, over 30% of approach shots came from 100-150 yards. Over the past 12 months, Hoffman ranks in the 68th percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from this distance in the fairway. Considering Hoffman's recent consistency, he could be a solid addition to DFS lineups.
