Nick Pivetta Takes Loss In Five-Inning Performance
7 years agoSeeking a series win against the Toronto Blue Jays to keep their spot in first place, the Philadelphia Phillies closed out a home series on Sunday with Nick Pivetta on the mound. The 25-year-old entered with a three-game winning streak, having lowered his ERA over a full run and a half during the streak. Unfortunately for the Phillies, however, he would pitch well, but not well enough. Pivetta went just five innings, surrendering two runs on four hits and two walks, also striking out seven. The bullpen would allow three more runs, as the Phillies were defeated, 5-3 to fall half a game behind the Atlanta Braves.
