Rhys Hoskins’ Late Efforts Not Enough
7 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies sophomore Rhys Hoskins has really fallen on hard times as his club climbs the ranks of the NL East. Across his last 30 games, he’s hitting just .194, including an abysmal .115 over his last seven. On Friday night against the Toronto Blue Jays, however, he came alive in the eighth, as his team trailed by three runs. The 25-year-old drilled a double to left with a runner on, cutting the deficit to just two runs. It was his first RBI and extra-base hit in four games, but he had one more chance in the ninth. After a run scored, he stepped up with the bases loaded looking to become the hero, but he struck out looking.
