Dustin Pedroia Not In Friday's Lineup, Will Start Saturday
7 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia was activated from the disabled list earlier today, however, he will not be in Friday's starting lineup. The general consensus is that he will be able to pinch hit if necessary. Pedroia will be making his first start of the season on Saturday when the Red Sox take on lefty Sean Newcomb and the Atlanta Braves. Infielder Eduardo Nunez is also getting a day off on Friday while Brock Holt starts at second base. Pedroia could become a tantalizing fantasy asset for those in deeper leagues, but without knowing how often he will be deployed it would be premature to pick him up. It seems likely that the Red Sox will try their best to keep him well-rested.
