Gary Sanchez Exits With Cramps
7 years agoMoments after New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone was ejected from a game for the first time, the club’s star catcher would exit prematurely. All-Star catcher Gary Sanchez exited Monday night’s game in the sixth inning, seen limping off the field with what the club later called a calf cramp. Boone later said the injury wasn’t going to be problematic, but Sanchez's status for the club’s next game is up in the air. Austin Romine would replace Sanchez, later hitting a home run to bring the Yankees within two runs, though they would still fall 6-4. In three plate appearances, Sanchez recorded two walks prior to his exit.
