Anibal Sanchez Has Rough Rehab Start in Triple-A
7 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez (hamstring) got shelled on Monday in a rehab start with Triple-A Gwinnett, giving up eight earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings pitched. Sanchez has been rehabbing a hamstring injury suffered in mid-April, and Braves manager Brian Snitker was hoping he could take the injured Mike Soroka's spot in the rotation on May 28 during the Braves scheduled doubleheader. While Sanchez has posted a 1.29 ERA through three appearances (two starts) this year with 14 strikeouts in 14 innings, his decline over the past few seasons as well as the ugly rehab start on Monday means even fantasy owners desperate for streamers can avoid Sanchez upon his promotion to Atlanta.
