Walker Buehler Gets No-Decision Despite Longest Career Outing
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starter Walker Buehler had little to show for his excellent effort on Monday. The team's top pitching prospect, who has become the team's ace by simply staying healthy, gave up one earned run on two hits over seven innings, striking out six and walking none. He threw 61 of his 90 pitches for strikes and garnered 11 swinging strikes. The only blemish was a solo home run given up to Gerardo Parra in the fifth. However, Buehler was given the Alex Wood treatment by the team, who gave him no run support for his longest outing since becoming a starter. Still, Buehler didn't rattle and kept his team in the game, which is remarkable considering he's a very green rookie. He'll next face the Phillies at home next Monday.
