New York Jets veteran quarterback Josh McCown is expected to enter the season as the starting quarterback. However, first-rounder Sam Darnold, taken third overall in the draft, will be breathing down McCown's neck. Darnold will turn just 21 years old on June 5 and needs to be coached out of some bad habits (22 turnovers in college in 2017). "I think he's in a perfect situation, going to New York with Josh McCown, Teddy Bridgewater," former Jets quarterback Chad Pennington said last week on ESPN's Get Up! morning show. "He gets a chance to be patient. ... This needs to be a long-term process for Sam and the Jets, but I think they set themselves up nicely with a quarterback who can lead them in the future for a long time to come." While Darnold will be an excellent dynasty league pick this year, he'll surely have his ups and downs if he's starting games at some point in 2018. McCown had flashes last year for the Jets, but he should be avoided in most fantasy formats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
