Tyler Austin Goes Yard Twice as Yanks Roll
7 years agoAs Sonny Gray shut down the Kansas City Royals offense on the mound, the New York Yankees dominated on offense, pounding out 10 runs in an easy victory. The offensive star of Sunday’s matinee was the first baseman Tyler Austin, who could be facing an imminent demotion as Greg Bird prepares for his return. The 26-year-old picked up two hits in four plate appearances, but both were home runs, as he drove in four of his club’s 10 runs scored on the day. As previously mentioned, Austin is facing the prospects of demotion to Triple-A as Greg Bird will report to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.
