Gary Sanchez Unleashed In Kansas City Victory
7 years agoBefore New York Yankees ace Luis Severino got his first pitches in on Saturday night, his offense had already provided him with run support. The first run of the game was scored in the top of the first as starting catcher Gary Sanchez doubled to center, scoring Aaron Hicks. It was only the beginning of the night for the All-Star catcher, as he drilled two home runs, finishing with four hits and three RBI. It was easily the 25-year-old’s best game of the season thus far, as he helped his weak batting average, now at .225 to go with 12 home runs and 33 RBI. The Yankees remain in a first-place tie with the Boston Red Sox in the AL East.
