Charlie Blackmon Hits First Homer In Weeks
7 years agoColorado Rockies center fielder Charlie Blackmon has quietly been in a slump for a couple weeks. It’s been a quiet slump because he’s still hit .200 during it, his on-base percentage has still been .333, and he’s still racked up five runs scored and a pair of stolen bases. The only thing that’s really been missing were the home runs, and since he started the season with 11 in his first 28 games, it’s been under the radar. He caught up to one on Friday night though, and deposited it over the wall in San Francisco. Owners shouldn’t expect Blackmon to always have a HR/FB rate of 33%, like he did during that hot first stretch of the season, but he should still reach the 30 homer plateau without much trouble.
