Vince Velasquez Leads Phillies Sweep
7 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies finished off a four-game sweep of the San Francisco Giants on Thursday behind the arm of Vince Velasquez. The enigmatic right-hander got off to a troubling start, surrendering a home run in the first and later allowing two more runs in the second. At the plate, however, Velasquez did solid, picking up two hits. One factor that kept him in the game was his strikeouts, as he racked up 12 in six innings. After calming down, his offense went to work, scoring six runs to flip the score, ultimately assisting Velasquez to the victory.
