Brett Gardner’s Big Hit Propels Yankees Over Boston
7 years agoHeading into Wednesday’s AL East rivalry matchup against the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner was really struggling. Hitting .198, he responded with his best game of the season, recording three hits. His biggest of the game, however, came in the eighth, with his club trailing by a run. The veteran drilled a two-run triple to straightaway center, putting the Yankees ahead. He later came around to score on a home run, sealing another victory that puts his team in sole possession of first place in the AL East. Additionally, the Yankees have the best record in the league.
