7 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes left Sunday’s loss to the Colorado Rockies early due to a sore right quadriceps. Although the move was for precautionary reasons, Cespedes’ status is uncertain for Monday’s series-opener against the Cincinnati Reds. In a bit of good news, though, Cespedes said this injury was different than the quad injuries that forced him to miss significant time over the last few seasons. With the Mets reeling and Cespedes heating up, this would be the worst possible time for Cespedes to be sitting on the bench.--John Smith
