The Miami Marlins could call up pitching prospect Sandy Alcantara soon, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro. Alcantara came over to the Marlins from the Cardinals in the Marcell Ozuna trade and impressed in Spring Training. Skipper Don Mattingly wanted the young fireballer to get some more experience in the minors before making the transition to the big leagues, a strategy that looks to be paying off. In his Triple-A start on Friday, Alcantara pitched seven shutout innings and struck out five. On the year, Alcantara has a 3.27 ERA and 32 strikeouts in six starts.--Steven Slivka
