7 years agoStill awaiting word on his suspension from an altercation with the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park two weeks ago, New York Yankees first baseman Tyler Austin once again took part in a game for the Yankees on Thursday afternoon. The 26-year-old went hitless in three plate appearances, but it was the news that emerged after the game that has created headlines. Austin’s suspension has been reduced from five games to four, while he’ll serve it immediately. In his absence, look for Neil Walker to play primarily at first base as the Yankees still await the return of Greg Bird from injury. Austin has been solid as an everyday player, displaying effective defense while getting hot over the past 10 games at the plate.--RDelgado
