William Nylander Responds Well To Line Juggling
7 years agoAfter a very quiet series, Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander posted a productive game in Wednesday’s loss to the Boston Bruins. His two assists matched his point production from the first six games of the series. Nylander started the play that led to Patrick Marleau opening the scoring on the power play, and added an assist on Travis Dermott’s first career playoff goal early in the second frame. Head coach Mike Babcock had dropped Nylander from his first-line spot alongside Auston Matthews early in the series but reinstated the pair in Game 7, as the Leafs were looking desperately to hold on to their season. Nylander played arguably his best game of the postseason, even slotting in to take faceoffs, but it appears to have been too little too late and not enough to hold the Bruins at bay.
