Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani is batting cleanup in Sunday's game against Johnny Cueto and the San Francisco Giants. Ohtani began the year hitting eighth, but has climbed all the way up to fourth thanks to his .342 batting average and three home runs. Albert Pujols is getting the day off, so it remains to be seen if Ohtani sticks at that spot once he returns.--patton

Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base in his team's 15-2 victory over the Miami Marlins. He added a walk, two strikeouts, and two runs scored. Ohtani blasted a 114.1 MPH solo shot to lead off the bottom of the first inning -- qualifying for his hardest hit ball of the season thus far. It was also the first time he hit a home run and stole a base in the same game this year, as he's started to pick it up in recent days. The superstar slugger is riding a four-game hit streak in which he's 7-for-15 (.467) with five extra-base hits (three doubles, one triple), three steals, and six runs scored. Ohtani has driven in just ten runs on the campaign, but he leads the league with 29 runs scored in 28 games.--Alex Ciulla

Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani singled, stole a base, and came around to score in the first inning against the Marlins on Monday, but he didn't get much to hit for the rest of the game. He walked three times and struck out in his other at-bat to finish 1-for-2 with three walks, a run scored, and his seventh stolen base of the season. Ohtani is hitting .290 on the season with six home runs, a .243 ISO, a .399 wOBA, and 27 runs scored, which is just one behind the MLB lead held by Brice Turang. Ohtani is doing a great job as the Dodgers' leadoff hitter, even if his power numbers are slightly down, since he constantly is getting on base and creating scoring chances.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller

The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (paternity) from the paternity list prior to their contest on Sunday against the Texas Rangers. Ohtani was held out of action for the past two games but is set to return for the series final on Sunday. Over his last nine contests, the reigning NL MVP has posted a stellar .308/.357/.590 slash line with three home runs and three stolen bases. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers have designated outfielder Eddy Rosario for assignment. Through 20 games this season, Ohtani has posted strong .288/.380/.550 slash line with six long balls and five stolen bases. He has generated an elite .466 xwOBA with a .718 xSLG, which places him in the 98th and 99th percentile, respectively. He will be a must-start option on Sunday facing Texas right-hander Tyler Mahle.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani is expected to be activated off the paternity leave list ahead of Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers. Ohtani has missed the last two games while being away from the team due to the birth of his child. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Saturday that he expects Ohtani back in the lineup for the series finale. Eddie Rosario has been serving as the designated hitter, but is likely going to be optioned back to Triple-A on Sunday. Fantasy managers should check back for another update on Sunday to confirm Ohtani is good to go.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
