7 years agoToronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis fouled a ball off his left foot on Thursday, and as such, is out of the lineup for Friday’s game against the New York Yankees. Rookie Lourdes Gurriel, making his Major League debut, gets the nod in Travis’ place. According to manager John Gibbons, there’s uncertainty about whether or not Travis would be available at all Friday. The fact that he can’t be ruled out completely, though, should indicate that he’s not seriously injured. Travis couldn’t be off to much of a worse start in 2018, slashing .149/.216/.170 with zero home runs, four runs scored, two RBI and zero stolen bases across 51 plate appearances.--John Smith
