Christian Villanueva Fine After Being Plunked On Wrist
7 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Christian Villanueva (wrist) was removed from Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers after being plunked in the wrist. X-rays came up negative and he expects to play Friday. Villanueva is second in the majors with four hit by pitches and is considering using a wrist protector. It makes sense. Villanueva has been the best Padres hitter this season, slashing .340/.450/.780 with six home runs and 13 RBI. His round-trippers are tied for fourth in the majors and are tops among all rookies. Villanueva has been a popular fantasy add this week. Consider the wrist issue day-to-day.
