Cory Schneider Going for Two Straight, Gets Game 4 Start
7 years agoNew Jersey Devils goaltender Cory Schneider will return to the crease in Game 4 as the Devils look to even the series. By all accounts, Schneider has taken back the starter’s duties from Keith Kinkaid after stopping 34 of 36 shots in a Game 3 victory. The 5-2 victory was Schneider’s first win since Dec. 27 and could not have come at a better time for the Devils. Despite a sub-par regular season for Schneider, his numbers were better at home, posting a .911 save percentage in 22 starts. With that said, he would have to play closer to his .928 career playoff save percentage than he has all season long for the Devils to take another game in this series. Game 3 provided a glimpse at what Schneider can do when he's effective, but it is a risky bet to count on a repeat performance.
