Greg Holland Can't Get an Out on Tuesday
7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals closer Greg Holland was unable to record an out on Tuesday, allowing two runs on a hit and two walks. Holland came in to pitch the eighth inning of a 5-1 Cardinals lead. He walked the first batter he faced, allowed a home run to the next batter, then walked the batter who followed. He was pulled from the game after the second walk. Holland's ERA is sitting at an ugly 11.57 and Bud Norris has looked like a shutdown closer in his place. Ultimately, Holland is likely to regain the ninth inning, but it may take a bit longer than anyone expected. Norris is the one to own in the Cardinals 'pen for now.
