Rhys Hoskins Delivers In Extras
7 years agoAfter nine innings Tuesday at SunTrust Park between the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves, the score was tied at one run each. In the top of the 10th inning, however, two men reached base before two outs put them on the verge of wasting a golden chance. Up to the plate, however, stepped up outfielder Rhys Hoskins, the best hitter on the team. Hoskins drilled a double to right field, scoring two decisive runs that put the Phillies ahead. It was his only hit on a night that saw him strike out thrice, but it was the key plate appearance of the night and subsequently led to victory.
