Gleyber Torres Pulled From Game With Stiffness
7 years agoTop New York Yankees prospect Gleyber Torres (undisclosed) has been playing tremendous baseball at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and talk quickly emerged of an imminent promotion to the majors. Earlier Monday, he was pulled in the fifth inning of the RailRiders game, feeding rumors of that supposed call-up. The truth, however, is that Torres was simply feeling slight stiffness and was removed for precautionary reasons. The 21-year-old is hitting .385 with 10 RBI thus far in the Triple-A season. He’s been focusing on third and second base with a spot opening up at third as Brandon Drury continues to deal with migraines and Miguel Andujar fails to stand out.
