Carmelo Anthony Steps Up On Defense
7 years agoOklahoma City Thunder forward Carmelo Anthony filled up the defensive stats in his clubs eight-point victory over the Utah Jazz. Melo notched three steals and was able to swat away two shots to go along with 15 points on a not-so-efficient 5-of-13 from the floor. Anthony also provided seven boards and two assists but it was Melo's rare contribution at the defensive end that made his line relevant on the night. Melo was not needed too much at the offensive end with Paul George and Russell Westbrook leading the charge there. Anthony will not provide these defensive stats every night, which makes him a risky play because if his shot is not falling, he becomes completely irrelevant.
