Greg Holland Works a Scoreless Inning
Greg Holland pitched a scoreless inning on Wednesday, allowing just a walk. Holland's Cardinals debut was awful, but he came back with a solid inning in this one. He tossed 13 pitches, eight for strikes. Holland's velocity was noticeably down, but he may be able to pick that up as he gets more appearances under his belt.

Greg Holland, Eli White Make Opening Day Roster
Greg Holland and outfielder Eli White have been informed by manager Chris Woodward that they have made the team. Meanwhile, relief pitcher Spencer Patton was optioned and outfielder Jake Marisnick was released by the team. Holland is the most notable player here. Joe Barlow has been heralded as the favorite for saves in Texas, but Holland significantly outperformed him this spring and we all know the 36-year-old has far more experience in a closing roll in the majors. Fantasy managers in leagues where saves are scarce and highly coveted may want to speculatively add Holland in case he opens the year as the team's primary closer.

Greg Holland Signs With The Rangers
Greg Holland has signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers. The team has also invited the veteran pitcher to Spring Training with the major league squad. The 36-year-old Holland spent the last two seasons with the Kansas City Royals. He looked rejuvenated in 2020, when he had a 1.91 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP over 28.1 innings. However, last year he struggled immensely to the tune of a 4.85 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP. He'll have some work to do in order to earn some high-leverage innings with his new squad.
