Gleyber Torres Concentrating on Second and Third Base
7 years agoTop New York Yankees prospect Gleyber Torres remains red-hot for the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders as he shifts his focus to positions which could help the big league club. The 21-year-old will be working primarily at third and second base now, two positions where the Yankees could use help. Neil Walker, who was signed to be the club’s second baseman, has also been seeing time at first following Greg Bird’s injury. Brandon Drury, meanwhile, who was acquired to play third, is currently on the disabled list with migraines. In five games thus far this season, Torres is hitting .348 with four RBI, a triple and a home run.
