7 years agoAfter Maikel Franco connected on a grand slam in the first inning of tonight’s easy Philadelphia Phillies victory, the offense was only getting started. Two innings later, with a four-run lead, it was Aaron Altherr who drilled another grand slam to left, busting open the game. While it was the 27-year-old’s only hit of the game, it was plenty of damage in what was an outstanding night for the offense. Altherr also drew a walk, but perhaps the most promising aspect of his performance was the fact that he saw 32 pitches from opposing pitching, more than any of his teammates. If Altherr can remain patient at the plate, he will see additional major performances like tonight’s.--RDelgado
