Charlie Blackmon Lands Six-Year Deal
7 years agoThe Colorado Rockies agreed to a six-year, $108 million deal with outfielder Charlie Blackmon on Wednesday, according to a source. Escalators in the deal could make the deal worth $116 million, and he'll have two opt outs in the final two years to go along with a limited no-trade clause. The 31-year-old has definitely earned it with his All-Star play in his seven years with the Rockies. In his career, the lefty swinger has hit .305 with 115 homers, 115 stolen bases, 361 RBI and 488 runs scored. Blackmon hit .331/.399/.601 with 37 jacks, 104 RBI, 14 steals and 137 runs in 2017. He's a much better hitter at the friendly confines of Coors Field, which made all the more important to lock him up in the final year of his deal.
