C.J. McCollum Struggles With his Shot on Tuesday
7 years agoPortland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum was having a tough time getting his shot to fall against the Mavs, shooting just 7-for-18 from the field to finish with 16 points in the ugly loss. McCollum was helpful in other areas, however, accounting for four rebounds, eight assists and one steal while committing three turnovers in his team-high 37 minutes of action. McCollum will be asked to shoulder the load of the offense with Damian Lillard expected to miss the rest of the regular season with a left ankle injury.

CJ McCollum Out Monday Against 76ers

McCollum will get the night off to rest after dropping 40 points, five rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 37 minutes in Sunday's 136-130 loss to the Pistons. The 33-year-old is one of seven Pelicans listed as unavailable for tonight's contest. Yves Missi (hip) could also be sidelined, as he is listed as questionable due to right hip soreness. McCollum will likely be back in action against Golden State on Friday.

The Pelicans are coming off a back-to-back set, and McCollum was rested for the second leg on Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies. Recently, McCollum has been quiet, averaging 15.6 points on 40.5 percent shooting since the All-Star break. With Zion Williamson (conditioning) also back in action, Trey Murphy III's offensive usage takes a hit, while Jordan Hawkins will likely have to move back to the bench.

Jose Alvarado (hip), who is questionable after totaling 17 points and seven assists on Saturday, may also find himself with the first five.

CJ McCollum Will Rest On Friday
1 month agoNew Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum (rest) has been ruled out for the Friday night rematch against the Phoenix Suns while he receives a rest day. This is the back half of a back-to-back, and the Pelicans are fresh off of a win over the Suns on Thursday where McCollum posted 19 points, four rebounds, and two assists. On Friday, Jordan Hawkins and Jose Alvarado should both see a boost in minutes while McCollum and Zion Williamson (injury management) are both sidelined this time around. Hawkins finished with 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two blocks on Thursday while Alvarado had 14 points, five assists, and three steals.
