7 years agoAfter all the hype surrounding his arrival to the New York Yankees on the heels of an MVP-winning season, Giancarlo Stanton delivered the goods in Toronto. In his first plate appearance with his new club, the 28-year-old drilled a home run to center field on the second pitch he saw. Stanton recorded another home run and an RBI double, driving four of his club’s six runs on the afternoon. The former Marlin was the best hitter on the field today, a huge statement for a man staring down high expectations the whole way through. His performance today did nothing to calm the lofty expectations that will surely gain steam as the campaign progress.--RDelgado
