7 years agoThe Denver Broncos are hoping that wide receiver Carlos Henderson and tight end Jake Butt can take more pressure off of wideouts Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders in 2018. “We saw a lot of where the safety and corner doubled D.T., the safety and corner double ‘E’ and left those (other) guys one-on-one,” head coach Vance Joseph told reporters this week at the NFL owners meetings in Orlando, Fla. “We have to find a way to attack those kind of coverages with our tight ends, with our slot and with our back so we can get more one-on-ones outside.” The Broncos just haven't been able to find consistency aside from Thomas and Sanders, and Henderson, a third-round pick last year, averaged 18.7 yards per catch and 19 touchdowns his senior year in college. Henderson missed all of his rookie year due to a torn thumb ligament, but he has the ability to make plays, and Joseph said the team will be counting on him for production out of the slot. Along with Butt, receiver Jordan Taylor (13 catches last year) could have a larger role in the offense. However, a lot depends on who is under center in 2018, and right now it looks to be free-agent acquisition Case Keenum, although Denver will surely address the position in the draft. Henderson and Butt could be successful deep sleepers in 2018 for those in deeper leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
