Ben Lively Opens Season In Starting Rotation
7 years agoAfter Zach Eflin was optioned to Triple-A, the Philadelphia Phillies have set their starting rotation, with Ben Lively earning one of the five spots. The 26-year-old appeared in six games this spring, making five starts and posting a 1-1 record with a 3.13 ERA. Last season, Lively started 15 games for the Phillies, tossing a complete game in a loss against the Nationals in September. In all, he went 4-7 with a 4.26 ERA following three separate promotions from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. With Jerad Eickhoff and Mark Leiter on the disabled list, Lively will have to pitch quite well to retain his spot in the rotation once those two return.
