Scott Kingery Signs Extension, Will Start Year With Phillies
7 years agoScott Kingery will indeed start the year with the Philadelphia Phillies after signing a six-year contract extension with the club. The deal also includes three team-option years that could have him with the club for nine seasons in total. The 23-year-old infielder hit .392 this spring, with four home runs and seven RBI. Arguably the top prospect in Philadelphia’s farm system, he hit .304 with 26 home runs, 65 RBI, 29 doubles and 29 steals between Double-A and Triple-A last season. Earlier this spring, it appeared set that he’d begin the season at Triple-A, but the Phillies have opted to keep him with the big league club.
