Jose Urena Struggling Lately
7 years agoStarting pitcher Jose Urena has already been named the Miami Marlins Opening Day starter, though he's looking to regroup from an ugly spring. Marlins skipper Don Mattingly tabbed Urena as the team's No. 1 starter last week, so a stumble in spring training shouldn't be too concerning. In 7 1/3 innings, Urena has an 8.59 ERA to go with a 2.18 WHIP. He led the Marlins with 14 wins last year, a big reason why Mattingly wants him to begin the season as the team's ace. Urena looks to right the ship on Saturday as he takes the mound against the Houston Astros.
