Charlie Lindgren Looks To Bounce Back Against Toronto On Saturday
7 years agoMontreal Canadiens goaltender Charlie Lindgren will start on Saturday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Lindgren has not won in his last three starts, allowing 16 goals in those three gamess. With No. 1 goaltender Carey Price (concussion) out, Montreal has been relying on Lindgren and veteran goaltender Antti Niemi to split starts in net. Niemi has posted decent performances in Price’s absence, but Lindgren has not. Aside from his only win and a 1-0 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, Lindgren has been extremely disappointing in goal for Montreal. Toronto has won both meetings against the Habs this season, scoring 10 goals in the two games. Look for Montreal head coach Claude Julien to have a short leash on Lindgren in Saturday’s match, as Niemi will be prepared to jump in as a backup.
